Since 1996 there have been contemporary art exhibitions which she has helped initiate in Museum Van Loon, Philippa’s family’s Museum. The aim is to give the opportunity for contemporary artists to exhibit in a historically loaded space, in order to keep it alive. She has wanted to continue the tradition of commissioning, collecting and showing art of each generation. And thus creating a transhistoric link between her family and the house’s history and today’s political, social and aesthetical values and preoccupations.
